Hi Tripti, welcome to Grow Asia! Can you share a brief overview of your professional journey leading up to your role with us? (Please keep under 200 words)
Throughout my professional journey, which spans three decades, I have gained diverse experience in various fields. In the first decade, I started my career as a Pharmaceutical Research Scientist, where I worked on developing novel antibiotics. This experience helped me develop my reasoning skills and aptitude for learning, which later proved to be invaluable in my career.
In the second decade, I took on the challenge of building and running a social enterprise in Singapore. The enterprise aimed to support education and skill development for at-risk adolescent girls in India. During this phase, I learned a great deal about social organizations and became interested in impact assessments, which are essential for evaluating the effectiveness of social programs. I ran a community of practice and provided consulting services to non-profits in this area, while also writing case studies to share my learnings with others.
In the third phase, I have dedicated myself to sustainable living and regenerative agriculture. I am thrilled to be part of Grow Asia's mission, which is to support smallholder farmers and promote climate-resilient farming techniques.
What excites you the most about joining Grow Asia?
I've always been passionate about regenerative agriculture and sustainable living. Grow Asia's focus on smallholder farmers and women empowerment resonate with me. I'm thrilled to be part of an organization that champions these causes and to work alongside others who share this commitment.
Can you highlight a particular success from your past roles that you are most proud of?
I was in charge of conducting data analysis for a research project when we discovered inconsistencies that threatened our key findings. I conducted a thorough review of the data collection and cleaning processes and identified the source of the errors. After that, I developed a plan to address the issues and reran the analysis. As a result of my intervention, we were able to save valuable project time and resources. We completed the study on schedule and obtained reliable results.
If you could have dinner with any person (dead or alive, fictional or non-fictional), who would they be, and why?
I would be honored to share a meal with Mahatma Gandhi for the following reasons:
To learn from him about Satyagraha, his philosophy that can bring about positive change in contemporary social issues.
To gain insights from his tireless fight for social justice, equality, tackling poverty, discrimination, and religious conflict.
To hear his refreshing approach to life championing simple living and self-sufficiency.
To understand his thoughts on nonviolent resistance and peacebuilding to address modern conflicts.
