Cherry is a seasoned professional with over 10 years of experience in public, private, and international NGO sectors. She currently serves as the Regional Manager of the Women's Economic Empowerment Program (WEE) at Grow Asia, a multi-stakeholder partnership platform established by the World Economic Forum and ASEAN Secretariat. In this role, Cherry is responsible for supporting the implementation of Grow Asia's flagship program on Women's Economic Empowerment, which aims to promote inclusive business investments and practices that promote the value and participation of women in inclusive markets.
Cherry works closely with the Grow Asia’s regional team and Country Chapters to facilitate multi-country projects that include gender and climate action baselining, case studies, and skills-building for women farmers and entrepreneurs, among others. Her initiatives aim to contribute to the development and adoption of self-propelled mechanisms for gender-inclusive, sustainable, and resilient food systems in Southeast Asia, a region she considers her home.
Before joining Grow Asia, Cherry was the Programs Manager for the Philippines Partnership for Sustainable Agriculture (PPSA), a country chapter of Grow Asia, where she served as the focal point for initiatives on Women's Economis Empowerment such as Gender Mainstreaming Strategy, development of case studies on responsible investing, and partner coordination on collaborative projects concerning capacity building and inclusion. Previously, Cherry also worked in policy research and gender mainstreaming at both programs and organization levels in the Philippines and in Laos, where she oversaw regional projects on human rights and women’s economic empowerment.
Cherry holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science, with great distinction from Centro Escolar University, Philippines, with multiple training programs on international treaties.
